I've been stage managing for 2 years professionally, graduating 2 years ago from college.
An interesting tale on the job...
At the end of a show I was ASMing, the "villian" of the show had just committed her terrible act, and an audience member proceeded to take their cup of water and throw the water into the actor's face because of how angry they were at the actor for doing such a terrible thing. Thankfully, it was just water and was during the actor's exit. I had a towel ready at hand, and the FOH was informed.
