Hello to everyone my name is John Logan I'm the proud stage manager of the Perry County Central Commodore Players in Hazard Kentucky. Ive been the stage manager since the beginning of this year , I'm also the set designer and part of set crew. I also created the illusion in the production before last Aladdin, Id like to say hi and connect with other stage managers like me. We are currently working on a production that goes on stage march 21-24th at Perry County Central High School a suessification of a midsummer nights dream. I'm proud to do what I do and I love my job no matter how agitating it can be sometimes. I don't plan to give this up until I'm graduated currently I am a junior. In my high school we don't look at each other in the Commodore Players Drama company as coworkers, were a family a Commodore Player family, through thick and thin better and worse riches and poor ( which with what funding we have we are mostly the poor part) we share a bond that cant be broken and will always be true. our wonderful producer/director Philip Neace is also the drama teacher at Perry County Central the man is a second father to most all of us and even though he has his moments we love him dearly hes a great man to know and my life wouldn't be anywhere near the same with out him. Its because of him I am the stage manager and I'm thankful for that everyday. my jobs a hard one but i see it through me and the stage crew and all the other department and department heads and our senior director and crow this year Johnathan Bush a great guy with good intentions. We all love each other as a drama family , we follow the traditions and are all superstitious we love our world of theatre. please contact me I'm a good person and I give some advice but most of the time I need it myself  i didn't know this site was around or I'd have joined after day one on the job. I'm still settling in but I'm better now then Ive ever been. i love my job and wouldn't give it up for the world.

I wish to apologize for my grammar and spelling mistakes to all those who read this post. I'm not very good with grammar honestly but I will try my hardest to keep my posts grammatically correct from now on.

Hi and welcome to the boards, John. It sounds like you've really caught the theatre bug- I think a lot of us know that feeling. There's a lot of great info on this site for student stage managers- be sure to check out the Students and Novice Stage Managers board.

Hello and welcome to SMNetwork John!  It sounds like you are very enthusiastic and passionate about your work; two great traits in a young stage manager.  Hope you find the forum to be a useful resource.
