I am going the UPTA's. I am auditioning as well as interviewing for production personnel. I've been there before, but this is the first time I will be interviewing. I had a positive experience. Theatres will post their various availabe backstage positions, and you sign up for a specific time to interview with them. As far as the percentage of these available positions being SM positions, I'm not sure. But I'm sure there will be enough to keep you busy interviewing all day. There will probably be only one person interviewing, and there will be A LOT of people running around (and you know how emotional actors can be about auditioning!), so it can be a bit overwhelming. But I'm sure you'll be fine. The UPTA coordinators really try to alleviate any uneasiness by having A TON of helpers around.
