Interesting. So the unions were the ones who pressured the Old Vic to stop the unpaid internship...wonder if a similar thing could happen in the US.

Well, I think if there is going to be any changes, it would come from the unions, worried about markets being flooded, union members not being able to get work, and the general concern over non-union workers/interns taking work from union members.

"Oh, you don't need an AEA assistant, you will have three interns."

Sadly, sometimes three interns does not make up for a qualified and experienced assistant.
