SMART PHONES: Tips for importing your contact sheet.
« on: Feb 20, 2010, 11:29 am »
A little trick that is handy for smartphone users.
I do my production contact sheet in word, but then my quick contact in excel. The production containing all the info (number, address, email, etc) and all the people (producers, agents, misc info, etc) which can end up about 6+ pgs long. While the quick contact is only people who I might have to contact on a day to day basis (cast, creatives, company mgmt, etc) which I can usually get to one pg long. On the quick contact the headers are: LAST NAME, FIRST NAME, ROLE, CELL NUMBER, HOME NUMBER, EMAIL

Once that is done I save the XL file as a .csv file and then it is easily able to import into my address book. If you have a phone that you can sync with your computer than this is the easiest way to get all the important numbers in there.

I know this is a little off-topic, but it echos the sentiment that you should use the program that gets the job done fastest.
