Q-Manager
« on: May 22, 2008, 02:21 am »
Does anyone know how to go about purchasing the full version of Q-Manager?  The website (www.hammerandtong.com) is just a weird page of text with several hidden porn links at the bottom.

Is there any way to get this software?  I've been trying every sound cue software I can find, and this demo is by far my favorite, but I need to be able to save.  I need it specifically for programming fades, so the free version doesn't cut it.

I don't know how to download Q-Manager but have you tried Q-lab? I know it's free and you can do fades in it.

We use Sound Cue System which is very versatile, easy to use and not expensive - have you tried that?  www.soundcuesystem.com I believe...we ran multi-track WAV file backing tracks off it last summer and didn't have a single blip, our musical director who is very particular is a convert...

OK, I did a little searching.

First of all, based on who owns the domain, it looks like their domain name may have been hijacked.  It's owned by someone in Prague, but the software coders are not Czech.

The "About us" wiki gave me This site, which contains some intro info including the names of the coders.  I did a search on their names.

It looks like one of them is at UCSD.  If you scroll down to the bottom of this page you'll find Mr. Hashagen and his email address.  The name is rare enough that I would guess is the same fellow mentioned on the About Us wiki.

I ended up buying Sound Cue System instead, and I actually like it much better than Q-manager anyway.  (The only reason I wanted Q-manager is because I thought it might be cheaper than $100, and my theater wanted to spend as little money as possible.  Non-profit rocks!)

Thanks all!
