Portable printers
« on: Mar 08, 2012, 07:52 pm »
Hey all- I need to get myself a printer and the chains on this topic are kinda old.

Especially for those of you on the go, what's your favorite printer to cart around? The one you love the most, but don't cry too hard when it gets left behind.

I don't need swanky. I need something that prints. That doesn't guzzle ink and doesn't weigh a ton to carry around from gig to gig. Oh and Mac compatible, please!

What's your favorite?

Thanks for the help!
Melissa

HP Deskjet H470. Costs about £120 over here, bluetooth compatible, relatively fast printing. Cartridges are pricey though - about half the price of a new printer!

On longer jobs - ones with a truck to carry all my stuff for me, I take a Kodak Hero 5.1. Bigger and heavier, but WiFi compatible, very cheap cartridges, and copies and scans as well.

Since my Canon Bubblejet started printing a green line on everything I have been carrying a Canon Pixma MP560.
Ink is real cheap and it stands up to being driven around frequently.

I've used both a cannon i70 and hp deskjet 450 on the road, and like both. the hp can be a bit finnicky with how much paper you use at once, but it prints really nicely.
