What do yours look like?

What format?

Picture/Pattern?

What  information do you prefer to include or leave out?

I am poor so I print my own with the business card paper you can buy at Staples.

Logo                                                         Name
                                            Stage Manager AEA, AGMA
__________________________________________________

Address line 1                                           Phone number
Address line 2                                            email address

I have a friend who has a catchy phrase printed on the back of hers, but I do not see the need to do that for myself.  I also know that a lot of people are anti logo, but I love my logo.  I designed it myself and for some reason really want to keep it on my resume and biz card.

I have a friend who has a catchy phrase printed on the back of hers...

Personally I would avoid such a thing as a "catchy" phrase might be read as "cute-sy".
As for the info...  As Jessie has: Name, address, phone number(s), email, that I'm a stage manager, union(s).

I just got business cards last fall.  (And I already need to update them.)  I did not include my mailing address, but  that was just because I was / am very transient.  They just have my name, that I am a stage manager, my cell, and my email address.  I'm going to update them to include my AGMA affiliation and my website address.

I got them through vistaprint... I chose a patterns with turquoise swirlys on them and I'm very happy with them.  I like that they have some personality!  I find that I give them out all the time, and I think it's a really essential tool to getting myself out there.

Opinions expressed here are not necessarily those of my employer.

Unless you have a PO Box or an office or something similar I'm generally against putting your address on your business cards.  Do you really want perfect strangers knowing where you live?

I do the print-your-own version.  I happen to have one with a sort of rainbow/artpaint border.  Occasionally it comes across as loud, but most of the time people love them.  I always carry a few in my wallet (though I'm out of town right now and have run out!! Luckily, I'll be home Tuesday).

I have full name, Stage Manager, address, phone, and email.  I find it's easy to just have everything on it, and this way can give to friends, too.  (Since I've moved so much and no one seems to remember which is most recent.)  And as someone else said, just about anybody can find you these days.

I got tempted to put a quote on the bottom at one point, or something like the AEA logo (which I don't think you can even use legally), but that completely looked too unprofessional.  My cheery border makes me happy, and usually gains a compliment.

Does anybody know the answer to that? I can't find anything on the AEA website.

It is simply copyright.
You would need to ask for a release from the copyright owner.

Which is the only logical policy, as impersonation would run rampant otherwise.

For other free options, check out newbielink:http://www.vistaprint.com [nonactive]

I tried ordering from vistaprint before but for the free option they will put their own advertising at the back of your business card, plus you will need to pay for the shipping.

I got lucky once and got a few hundred business cards (without advertising at the back) from another online printer - newbielink:http://www.glprint.com [nonactive] - when they did a sort of coupon giveaway. But Iam afraid that one was a one-off deal not available anymore :(

You guys know of any other place where I can get cards for free?

Built and designed mine on my own as well.  Printed up on Business Card paper from Staples.

I just have my website, name, phone number and AEA affiliation on it.

In all reality though - $32.98 for 250 cards actually isn't a bad deal from Vista Print.  It's tax deductible and the quality is probably better than using a color printer myself.
