New Flexbinder
« on: Aug 05, 2009, 02:22 am »
Hi Guys -

I am in love with this new binder and I have to share. it is a three ring binder with a cloth spine. You can lay it flat....or, my favorite, fold it in half and and it still sits flat. Love it!

I got way more excited about this than one should really get over binders.
I personally would like to bring a tortoise onto the stage, turn it into a racehorse, then into a hat, a song, a dragon and a fountain of water. One can dare anything in the theatre and it is the place where one dares the least. -Ionesco

I found one of these when cleaning up a rehearsal hall.  It's pretty great, though I did have to replace the plastic rings after a while, but it still works quite well.

Ok....I agree we should get less excited by these things...but I still do :).

Amazon had been out for a bit I guess. I found mine at a Rite-Aid.

Went to amazon.com today and they have it in stock. How many pages does it fit? I always have to get the huge D-ring binders.

I am not sure of a specific number.... I would say it is equivalent to about a 3" binder?

for me, the large size was able to fit 300 pages + dividers and the x-large fit 450 + dividers

I have become a huge fan of the Better Binders from Staples.  They are extremely rugged, being made of plastic and rubber.  I have been able to recycle them for several shows now and have only had to replace the ones that went into archives.

I LOVE the new flex binder for my lighting focus sheets and my call script.  I don't love it so much for my blocking book.  I need something sturdier for that.

We buy those pressboard-and-metal-prongy report covers for the archival storage of prompt scripts. I've had the same 2.5" binder for 5 years. Just got a 3" for my current production(s) of Nicholas Nickleby (both parts).
