Who can I stage manage for?
« on: Mar 04, 2007, 11:28 am »
I just joined AEA two months ago.  Now I'm looking for the next job, and I'm confused on what I can apply for.  I know that, as far as stage management goes, I should only be on AEA contracts, but I also know that Equity SMs work as PAs on Broadway.  Where's the line?  How do I know what I can apply for and what I can't?

Equity PA's on Broadway has been discussed before. As long as you are not doing stage management work, it seems to be allowed. The line comes into question when you start doing SM work as opposed to PA work. What is the difference, you ask? Ahh, therein lies the rub...

Ask the PSM's on Broadway their opinion about the issue.
I'd love to hear their opinions.

Here is another thread that covered AEA PAs: http://smnetwork.org/forum/index.php/topic,923.msg5323.html#msg5323
