summer vacation
« on: May 07, 2012, 10:02 am »
Anybody going anywhere interesting or exciting?

I'm heading to Philadelphia in a month for a wedding and to do some exploring. And the week after that, my college reunion. I might also try to sneak in a trip to Boston sometime, too.
I personally would like to bring a tortoise onto the stage, turn it into a racehorse, then into a hat, a song, a dragon and a fountain of water. One can dare anything in the theatre and it is the place where one dares the least. -Ionesco

2 weeks after we close Peter Pan my husband and I are taking a week to drive to Baltimore, stopping to see family and friends on the way, and from Baltimore enjoying a 8 day Bermuda cruise.  Yay 1st anniversary!

West Virginia for a month (for work) and hopefully Georgia and Colorado (for fun, to see family) if I can squeeze it in. :)

I'm hoping to get home to visit the family in Cleveland for a week or so in the middle of June, before I start my next job in the city at the end of the month.  Then after that, around the end of August, probably a trip to Memphis to visit some friends there.

I'm in NYC doing a corporate gig/hanging out with a friend, then headed to Boston and Florida in quick sequence to see various cousins!

Taking a looong overdue vacation (6 years people!) to take our four year old to the beach for the first time. Unfortunately I'm working summer camps and planning the season, but I'm crossing my fingers I can have another getaway before rehearsals start in July.

Ooh, that reminds me that I want to take a couple of days here and there to do some kayaking! (my favorite summer activity)

I have a gig in Winnipeg in July - it'll be my first time seeing the praries up here in Canada (or, really, any praries at all).

My boyfriend and I will be taking a road trip from SD to MI after my season closes this summer. I'm super excited, I've never done anything like that before.

From July 8th - July 16th I'll be riding the motorcycle from Hartford, CT down to Lancaster PA, Germantown MD, and possible Rock Camp WV if I get the time.

Well it might not be specifically vacation, but I will be moving to Cali to start my SM study program this summer. I'm very excited, this will be a whole new experience for me. I have even placed an countdown on my desktop!!  :P

Well, I'll be spending two months working in summer theatre in a 'destination' town - known for hiking and biking trails, wakeboarding, nearby beaches and golf - so does that count as a vacation?

If not, I know the only real vacation I'd likely take is something immediately afterwards, when there's still the cash in the bank not yet going to, y'know....living. But then, there's something perverse about packing (again) to go on a vacation. Kinda almost feels like work.
