Finding out - esp in performance - that the director gave important prop/costume/blocking/light/sound notes and never got around to telling you -

When one actor's entrance/exit changes from SL to SR....and you have to reblock everything around to compensate.
I personally would like to bring a tortoise onto the stage, turn it into a racehorse, then into a hat, a song, a dragon and a fountain of water. One can dare anything in the theatre and it is the place where one dares the least. -Ionesco

Actors who think that uttering the sentence "I'm not late!" can retroactively change the course of history and make them arrive on time.

Directors who think that uttering the sentence "Just one more thing!" means they can keep the company for half an hour past the scheduled end.

One of my worst things is when I am erasing blocking notes in my script and I tear one of the holes on the page. The stickers used to mend said torn page are a constant reminder of what happened, I usually end up replacing the entire page.

An idea I heard somewhere is to cover both sides of one edge of the page with clear packing tape, and then hole punch through the tape. Sort of a pre-emptive version of those round stickers.

I may have to try that one with my newest show. Sounds like a good idea!

Sitting at a read-thru and discovering the director decided on the one day you were sick, he was going to chop up the script and not give you the cuts.

When your brain takes a brief holiday, and you hole punch a few pages on the wrong side.  Or on the right side, but like, a 32nd of an inch off.  That drives me crazy!

Finding a screw, bolt, bracket or pin just lying around on the floor, and having no clue where it came from. (We just pulled up a set--is it an integral component? Is it now unsafe? Is it going to collapse when it's next used? Did it fall from the grid? Did it just fall out of someone's pocket?)

And when my friends don't believe that THAT'S the reason I'm bruised from the knees down.

Thinking you are going to need to write a lot of notes for a meeting and setting up an entire page, only to write one thing on it the entire time...

I HATE this- it happens in Rehearsal, Production Meetings, and Class.

Also, hearing a soloist start a song a thirty-second of a beat late. The audience may not catch it, but you remember the entire run of a show.

Asking an ASM to finish some paperwork, only to find that they did it halfway, handed it to the other ASM, who then doodled on it and asked an actor to return it to you.

Blocking page-by-page, then discovering that you blocked two pages on one sheet.

An actor that misses their light- AFTER it is spiked for their convenience
"You can grow old, but please, please, never grow up. Not all the way."

Picking up a broom to sweep the deck and the broom has more dirt on it than the deck did.  Leaving a trail of sawdust behind the broom is THE WORST.
You will have to sing for your supper & your mortgage, your dental coverage & your children's shoes, over & over again while people in desk jobs roll their eyes the minute you start to complain. So it's a good thing you like to sing.

Having to entertain higher ups who 'used to be techies' in high school, then smile and nod when they point out front lighting (which is non-existent).
