SM gifts!
« on: Dec 25, 2009, 09:22 pm »
Anybody get any great stage-managery gifts for the holidays?

My dad gave me THREE giant rolls of gaff tape, and one of black duct tape. "I know this is like gold," he said. My little sister also found a gold star door plaque that she ordered to say "Stage Manager" on it. She wants me to put it on the door of the booth.  ;)
I personally would like to bring a tortoise onto the stage, turn it into a racehorse, then into a hat, a song, a dragon and a fountain of water. One can dare anything in the theatre and it is the place where one dares the least. -Ionesco

The star on the booth idea is terribly cute!  Points for your little sister!
Since I'm doing a show until January 3rd, I won't be doing family Christmas until January 10th.  My crazy dad did send me two Snuggies, though.  My booth is cold, and if one of them were the dark blue I'd consider taking it in.  But, they're zebra and leopard print.  Will not work.  :-D

I got a tool belt and a beautiful new hammer. I also got a new iPod mini which has stopwatch, voice recorder, calendar, video, photos, and can function as a flash light in a pinch!

I got a hammer a roll of gaff tape and a can of WD40 in a small tool box with a tag saying "Universal Repair Kit", which I thought was pretty cool.

I bought my own present! Our local AC Moore was moving locations and I saw a $150 rolling SM kit (at least that's what I'll be using it for) for $30; I went to the manager and asked if he could cut me a deal since it was a little dusty from storage, so he let me have it for $15.
