Halloween 2011
« on: Oct 03, 2011, 12:31 pm »
Halloween is less than a month away!  Does anyone have any fun plans/shows/costumes/events going on?

I'm trying to organize a pumpkin carving party at my house for some friends, and figuring out what costume to wear to work that day....

Halloween is my travel day (wop wop) to my next gig (hooray!).  But I'm bummed I won't get to do anything fun, really.

My show is taking part in the Halloween Parade in NYC in lieu of a performance -- should be a blast!

I will NOT be working! For the first time in a while. But I'll be having a Halloween party with cast/crew from the show I did around last Halloween, in a show where the final scene took place on Halloween day.
I personally would like to bring a tortoise onto the stage, turn it into a racehorse, then into a hat, a song, a dragon and a fountain of water. One can dare anything in the theatre and it is the place where one dares the least. -Ionesco

I'm actually SMing at a theme park for the current Halloween season, so I get to celebrate it for six full weekends leading up to the date itself.  Luckily the event closes on the 30th, so I can enjoy the 31st for the first time in years!!!  I also need to start working on an outfit... zombie, perhaps? :-)

We will be starting our first day of tech for a very geeky sci-fi/space themed Panto production.

Our company will be in Portland right before Halloween, and there is a "Run Like Hell" 5K that some of us will be doing (it's basically, a cool zombie themed race).  We actually have off on halloween night this year, we'll have to figure out something to do...

I'm on the road with Theatreworks again, and we actually have that whole weekend before Halloween off. We're scheduled to be right outside of Chicago, so we are now looking in to Pricelining a hotel within the city itself, rather than the suburbs, for the days off.

I will start rehearsal for my 5th production of Titus Androncius - this time at The Public Theater.  Bring on the blood and gore!

I have dress rehearsal for The Wizard of Oz.  So I will be surrounded by people in costumes.  :)

For me, it will be closing weekend for one show that I am in and running sound and I will be half way through rehearsals for another show that I am SMing...

A friend of mine in town will probably be having a Halloween party. If he does, I'll probably go to that. :)

I have a performance on Halloween, but at least it's for Evil Dead: the Musical, so I'm still in theme.  We are also performing at a huge street festival/Halloween party on the Friday night, so that should be exciting.  Oh, and I'll be in rehearsals for my next show that weekend too.  Good excuses for a zombie costume...
