"Indeed" says 50k...
« on: Apr 30, 2014, 03:48 pm »
I have a couple of google alerts set up so when sites with certain keywords go online, I get an email. For example, when someone mentions my theatre or current plays.

I got a notification today for stage managing dc that made me laugh (and reconsider my life choices). Indeed is claiming that SM internships in the city e city are paying 50k on average. ( No sources, of course.

Who's giving out these internships and how do I get one? Can I switch from freelance to intern, and stay an intern until I retire?

Yeah, I get this when tracking SMNetwork's performance too. They're including anything that mentions the words "intern," "stage" or "management" in the description, so it isn't entirely accurate. Suggest wrapping the whole phrase in quotes to avoid the false positives, at the risk of losing a few hits.

The old adage applies - if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
Get action. Do things; be sane; don’t fritter away your time; create, act, take a place wherever you are and be somebody; get action. -T. Roosevelt
