PROPS: Ink and Quill
« on: Feb 10, 2017, 02:51 pm »
Hey Everyone,

We're currently doing a show set in 1840's England that involves quite a bit of writing on stage. The front row of the audience is going to be within 10 ft of the stage and raked up. We are looking for a solution to writing with a quill and ink that the actors can work with, but that won't spill or stain their costumes.

Does anyone have any thoughts or solutions for this that they have used?

We put a normal pen into the quill of the feather . . . worked great.

Same here: you can even purchase them premade with the pen. If possible, pasting inkwells to the surface is a good idea as well (even if there is no ink in it).
