PROPS: Foam Fire Extinguisher
« on: Oct 29, 2012, 12:09 pm »
I've got to find a fire extinguisher that can be refilled easily with whipped cream (or something similar). I'm looking into refilling a real extinguisher, or maybe using a soda siphon and painting it.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Naturally, the cheaper the better!

Thanks!

Do you need the whipped cream for part of the show?  We use real, bonafide CO2 extinguishers in our show.  No harm to people, and leaves no film (unless you spray someone very close up).  You can get them refilled by tons of companies across the US for $50-$100 depending on where you are.

Caution on this one if you are in enclosed areas or need to have an effect of spraying someone direct (as you've mentioned).  The more CO2 there is, the less O, and less O is a bad thing - unless you're a plant!

Actually, this shd be an easy build - get a whipped cream can or one of those fancy whipped topping makers or something like that, and build the fire extinguisher case around it. If you hinge the outer case, you can easily take out the whipped cream container to clean/refill.
