The theater I'm working at says there is some company that will send you a crates of tubs of Ricola for free - a promotional thing, I guess.  Has anyone heard of this, or know how to contact them?  I need more Ricola.

Ricola sent a theatre I worked at like 5 tubs of Ricola at the beginning of the season because we gave them advertising space in our program for the whole season.  (I'm pretty sure that was the deal) So, yes, it does exist!

The info in that thread is great, but I've also found that the rep for their charitable giving has changed quite a few times recently, and varied by region.  If you write to info@ricolausa.com, they should be able to point you in the right direction.  They like to hear that you're a theatre company (not for profit, if applicable), etc.  I usually include how much our actors appreciate it.  It helps if you include the shipping address of the theatre on the initial inquiry, so that you save a step of back and forth (the speed of the back and forth has varied wildly).  Once you finally get the confirmation that they'll send you some, it comes pretty quickly.

They change went into effect June 1st and the shipping fee varies by region - still a great deal though with the amount of ricola they donate to theaters!

A friend of a friend tried to contact Ricola about the deal (the theatre used to get it long ago but has since lapsed).  Ricola told them that they were no longer establishing new accounts...
Still worth a shot to contact them (this friend was working for a for-profit theatre I believe).

Another stage manager friend just tried this and said that now the best they can do is send discount coupons
for in store purchase.

My show just tried to reorder and we were notified that they were charging for product now as well as shipping (I think it was $64/case, ie. $8 a can, but don't quote me on that)

Yes, it's 65.00 a case, plus 10 shipping on the east coast.  It is no longer a donation issue.
