One piece of stationary which I love (I bought 500 of them when I found them) and have never found again, which REALLY helps, they are a regular plastic sheet with another stuck to the end, so you end up with one that folds in again (Basicaly A3 in size).

Each of my books has one with the stage (and all abbreviations) on it in the outer pocket at the back.  As I write my stage directions on paper, I also draw the paths etc on an overhead transparancy, which I put in the right pocket as well, giving me an overlay. As it changes I just erase the overhead, and if need be, at a later date I photocopy the transparancys with the stage layout behind it.

That sounds very cool - do you have info on it, such as manufacturer and product code (Avery # xxx or whatever)? SMs alone could keep that product on the shelves (kinda like, all the SMs I know have the same stopwatch, cuz it doesn't beep or make any other noise when in use...)

Which stopwatch would that be, pray tell?  "Tis charity to show."
Do it right the first time;  do it right every time.

Just so you know (going way way back to that erasable colored pencil thing), Crayola Erasables Colored Pencils are crap. Trust me - I spent two years working in the Crayola retail store, and we became very familiar with all the products. They don't write very well, and they erase very poorly. You're better off with standard colored pencils and an art gum eraser, which still doesn't erase well. For some reason, they haven't managed to solve the erasable colored pencil problem with name brands, as far as I know. (Of course, if I ever was seen with any non-Crayola products, I would've been lynched.)

I used to record blocking by numbering the lines(in fact that's how I was trained in school), until I started working on predominantly new plays, where massive influxes of new pages and line order changes were common.   Now I record blocking by numbering actions, skipping numbers as I go...2, 4, 6, etc.
