RUNNING: I need a different marking tape/technique
« on: Apr 13, 2017, 05:34 am »
Hi everyone;
I’m stage manager of a theater stage. Stage is working 7 days of week and 9 shows on 7 days. Because of that stage is full of marking tapes. And we are covering up markings before every show and open the others. I’m using black gaff tape for covering up. It’s waste of tape and waste of time. Also it’s damaging stage paint. Now I want to find another marking tape or marking technique. When marking something, I want to see that marking from stage. But I don't want to see from audience site. Is it possible?

To avoid damaging the stage paint, try covering the spikes with painter's tape first, then cover the painter's tape with the gaff.

Black paper-tape is WAY cheaper than gaff and has much less tack. I get mine from the local film-suppliers - try there first, otherwise I'm sure it's online
