Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any books about just Assistant Stage Managing?

in my opinion, knowing how to PSM is knowing out to ASM. I found it easier to assist when I knew exactly what a PSM does because you're basically just helping them do their job. Thats just my opinion / experience.

I agree with you below.  I've always told my ASMs their job is to be one step ahead of me.

I don't know of any books . . . but this is what I generally teach my ASMs:

Watch the PSM and be ready to hold book, take blocking notation legibly, track props, chase actors down, and basically do anything asked.

Also, realize you are not the PSM and be willing to follow their lead without attitude or delay.
