Just came across this but love the feature.  The forum tells you if another post has been made while you were typing and offers you the chance to review/edit your post based on the new one before it posts.  Amazing and brilliant.  I can't remember how many times I've posted on forums only to have been beaten to the punch or have someone respond just prior to me thus changing my view.

LOVE the new forum! Congrats and thank you, Kay!!!

One thing: I'm wary of the applaud/smite thingy. I've seen it go horribly bad on other forums as it becomes wretchedly mis-used. While I like the idea, it requires that all members use it with care and respect. If used properly, it can be terrifically useful. Unfortunately, it can be just as terribly destructive. I've seen more than one forum excise the feature completely when it's gotten out of hand. However, I feel like this forum will be much less rife with abuse, since we're a fairly like-minded community with professional goals in mind. It more often tends to be misused on the far more social- and youth-oriented sites.

Anyway, can't wait to enjoy the new site! Thanks again!

Peace,
-Kris

Thank you.

Yeah, I'm watching the karma closely.  For now it's amusing.

Love your Pratchett slogan, BTW.

There's one thing that I've been missing.  Its knowing where folks are - seeing their location when they post.  Right now there's a thread going where they're referencing some local slang, and I'm dieing of curiousity of where in the world that that slang is used in.  More seriously, I would think about what I was replying if I knew that the person who was posting was in a different country than myself.

Its not a big thing, just something that I enjoyed from the previous site.  I have no idea if other folks found it interesting.

I love the new look but, once again, I miss the fish.
If a show opens in the rain and noone is there to see it, is it still art?

I like the new design.

I've been away for a while (like anyone really noticed...) but I'm back, more or less.

Kay, thanks for running this place. We all love you.

This whole site is new to me, but I know that my professor/director of my current show, is forever picking on me because it's become the first thing I check when I get near a computer. I've gotten some great ideas from this site that have already helped our show!

The new SMNetwork is great, but one question: will the old jokes section be back at all? I really appreciated the SM humor. Thanks, and great job!  ;D :D

Yes, the jokes section (and all the rest of the content!) will be back.  I can't even look at the code until a) I come to the end of the 70 hour work week season and b) I redo the company website for the day job.  I gotta do the stuff that I get paid for first.
