Free Stuff
« on: Nov 05, 2006, 11:04 pm »
So, I've known about free Ricola for a while now.  But today I went to see Mary Poppins, and in the program they have under credits: Emergen-C provided by Alcer Corp (I'll let someone else tell them that it's Alacer, but I digress).  Does anyone have knowledge of Emergen-C being provided for free?  I haven't seen this anywhere else before.  I suppose I could ask someone over at Mary Poppins, but not bad info to share here if it is true - especially with cold and flu season upon us.

In another topic of free stuff - free business cards from Vistaprints.com - you just pay shipping.  Or for $20 get 250 cards with a  "premium design."  These were fairly nice looking cards.

My boyfriend is an LD and just got his cards done by Vistaprint and they look really nice. And they were the free ones.

I'll second the Vistaprint endorsement....I got the free ones and chose not to pay extra to have them shipped quickly, but they arrived in about a week anyway. Definitely a good deal!

I also use vistaprint for my cards, and as I'm now in sales I go through a ton of them.  Actually had to order *more* of them, which has never happened before.  However, they are NASTY when it comes to spamming you after your order.  Caveat emptor.

I didn't know about the Ricola or the other that you mentioned.  I will have to look into that.  I know I got a Senseo coffee machine that is useful for small cups of hot water for the cast (it is a lot easier than a crockpot).  I usually try to have lemon juice, honey, and a few teas available during winter shows.

We got Emergen-C for a touring show we did.  We had 4 companies out, and they split up a fairly small box.  So it's out there, but not necessarily in enormous supply.  We meanwhile got 2 or 3 large cans of Ricola each.

Below is a copy of the mail response I received when I inquired:

Thank you for your interest in Ricola products.
In response to your question, yes, Ricola does donate product to performing arts/symphony halls, etc.
The product donated is a case of Ricola Natural Herb Cough Drops provided in a tasting drum.  There are eight (8) drums per case and each drum contains 225 individually wrapped cough drops.
All we ask is that you acknowledge us in your program as follows and forward a copy of the program to my attention:  "Natural Herb Cough Drops - Courtesy of Ricola USA, Inc."
Please let us know where the product should be shipped and the date the product is needed.
Thank you.

Sincerely,

Thanks for the info on the Ricola.  My theatre has an old Halls dispenser in the lobby, but Halls stopped sending cough drops.  I'm going to forward this info to my FOH person.  Thanks again,

-Centaura

A Halls dispenser!  So cool.

So lame that they quit sending the goodies though.  Halls taste bad anyway  . . .
