Voyage de la Vie
« on: May 10, 2011, 09:28 am »
Hey all.  I guess I kind of fell off the planet for a while.

I finished my contract with Dragone (The House of Dancing Water in Macau) in November and then took some time to travel around Asia while slowly searching for a new job.

I recently started my new job as the Stage Manager for Voyage de la Vie at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore.

It is my first show using the British structure for the Stage Management team.  I find it interesting to be the head of department, but not the designated primary show caller.

So far, I am loving Singapore and enjoying the show.

I don't say this often, but I'd LOVE to be in your shoes right now. Singapore in on my list!

Congratulations!

Wow Jessie,

It's been two years already?  For those of us following your travels, it's gone fast. And for you?

It seems you've become an ex-pat, and have adopted the Far East as your new home.  The fact that you were able to find another job there is fantastic!

I wish you the best of luck, and hope to hear more from you about your new adventures!

Thanks guys!

Singapore was a favorite of mine during my travels and I am stoked to live here now.  There is so much to see and do.  And it's also a great hub for travel to other places in Asia.

And Ruth, I myself cannot believe it's been over 2 years.  I do think I'll return to the USA eventually but am very happy to have another year or two in Asia.

Congrats- what a fantastic new opportunity! Good luck with the new position, and let us know how it goes. I'd be really interested in hearing about the differences between the US and British structure for the SM team.

what Maribeth said - first of all great to see you pop up on SMN.org but as someone who will have worked both sides of the coin, it'd be very interesting to have a compare/contrast. AND - what a great bonus for those (was it 2 or 3) Singapore SMs who joined us a few years back, to connect together and help generate an in-person community.

I will totally write a post on the differences soon.  It has been interesting so far.  :)

Sounds fabulous!
