Working on a really exciting play right now- Stupid F**king Bird at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in DC. It's a very loose adaptation of The Seagull. We started previews today and the show runs through June 23rd.
From the website:
"An aspiring young director rampages against the art created by his mother’s generation. A nubile young actress wrestles with an aging Hollywood star for the affections of a renowned novelist. And everyone discovers just how disappointing love, art, and growing up can be. In this irreverent, contemporary, and very funny remix of Chekhov’s The Seagull, award-winning playwright Aaron Posner wages a timeless battle between young and old, past and present, in search of the true meaning of it all."
Lots of affordable tickets! Cheap date night is June 9th- $20 tickets and $2 PBRs. Under 30 tickets are $20, and stampede seats are $15. There's also an "artists mixer" on Thursday for $20- mixer starts at 6p, performance at 8p.
If you're in the DC area, I hope you come see it. It's funny, thoughtful, and full of amazing actors.
