A special barrier will cause audience member's phones to automatically turn off upon entering the theatre.

Yes!  I love this!   :D

Yay!  I just got it!  I needed a new series to read, and I love British mystery novels.
So how much are we reading before next Sunday?  The whole book?

All rehearsal and performance spaces are equipped with a 24 hour Starbucks.

2 weeks after we close Peter Pan my husband and I are taking a week to drive to Baltimore, stopping to see family and friends on the way, and from Baltimore enjoying a 8 day Bermuda cruise.  Yay 1st anniversary!

The Green Room / Re: SMASH - the TV series

I personally am quite addicted to this show and enjoy watching it - in spite of it's soap opera qualities and lack of reality.  I love the original music (most of it) and am looking forward to getting the CD.

And in this episode the SM was also seen taking down blocking!  :)

During prep week, I ask the production manager any questions I have about who is responsible for what tasks. I don't think you can anticipate every question that might come up, but this gives me a good head start on knowing who at the organization to go to with certain questions. And then, continue to ask questions as you go! It takes time to learn the operation of a new theatre- after a few shows it won't be such a surprise.

I agree with Maribeth.
I work with a community theatre regularly and nearly always with the same director and the same basic run crew.  But it seems that some of my responsibilities will shift slightly from show to show, so I have found that it is best not to assume too much, but to ask plenty of questions to make sure I am on the same page and understand what it is expected and that I get the pertinent information I need.

Hi!  And welcome!  This is a fantastic site that I know you will enjoy and hopefully be able to glean from as well as participate.
I am also in "your neck of the woods" - Western North Carolina - and I love the mountains and just being here.
Again, welcome!

I tried several times this morning and it wouldn't ever finish loading.  And now I can't even access the site, so I think they must be having some issues today.

I've always been a fan of Emergen-C vitamins B&C supplement.  A packet of that in a fruit smoothie will help a lot anytime you begin to feel run down.  If you're always on the go and don't have time to make your own, I enjoy the "Odwalla" brand products which are sold in grocery stores.

I always start taking Emergen-C the first day of tech and for the next 2 weeks (through the run of the show).  It helps keep me feeling strong when I'm going on 6 hours of sleep and long hard work days, eating whatever happens to be available.
