However at the end of the day you can't go home and snuggle with your career.

Wouldn't that be nice!

I would tell them that it was absolutely unacceptable to do that; and even illegal.
If they insisted on doing it, I would bring it to the attention of the director. I would use the director's judgement on what to do if they decide to still perform the "adult" version. Stopping the show comes to mind. Which would mortify the actors.
I would make sure to let the entire cast know my plan of action if they performed the adult version. And explain all the consequences of doing so.

Have you considered a private YouTube account?

You can upload videos and make them private -- so only you can see them, unregistered -- so only those with the link can see them, or public -- so anyone can see them. Perhaps making them unlisted and then sharing the links with everyone would work? You could have a file that had the title/date of the video beside the link.

Maybe it won't work with rules/copyrights/etc, but that's what I would try to do.

The Green Room / Re: USITT 2013 (Milwaukee, March 20-23)

I'm going!

To Milwaukee and to that specific session too! I'm the treasurer of our technical theatre group on campus, and I've organized our trip to USITT this year. There are 6 or 7 of us who are going.

I'm really excited for it.

I am sitting in tech right now, actually. I'm doing props for this one. Spring Awakening.
We're in central Maine at the University of Maine. We moved tech from tomorrow, Saturday, to tonight. We traded their six to nine regular rehearsal for a four to nine/ten tech rehearsal. We won't have tech tomorrow. Then we'll have tech Sunday from ten to four or so. Then a music rehearsal for the actors that night, their first with the orchestra.

Our set designer lives two hours away. He made it halfway here and then had to turn around because he feared for his life. Our lighting designer is staying with our TD about an hour away. They'll probably have to crash on one of the couches at the theatre or crash at someone's house.

It hasn't really hit us yet here, but it's going to be about 20" probably.

I hope everyone is staying safe!

The Green Room / Re: What about my dog?

I figured that was going to be the case. :( I was hoping I would get a "No, of course you can take him!"

I've sent "feelers" out to a couple people, and posted a Facebook status asking my friends. Hopefully I can find someone knowledgeable that I trust.

Thank you for your quick reply!

I understand the complications with bringing a dog to summer stock, but what about a rabbit? I have a beautiful 5 month old lop rabbit. Is it realistic to hope to bring him with me? I don't trust anyone in my family to watch him for the entire summer....and if I get into somewhere that has free housing, but in a dormitory, I'm not sure they'll allow him. I don't really know what to expect. I shouldn't include that I have a rabbit in my application and he must come with me, I know that...but should I mention the him before I accept the position?

Thanks for any advice!

As with most of the country, I need to lose weight and get fit!

I need to lose a good 60-80 pounds. I had lost nearly 30 in the spring of 2012, but gained that and then some in the summer.
So to do that; I am doing yoga 3-5 times a week, running 3 days a week, and doing strength training/exercise classes 3 times a week.
And, of course, improving my eating habits: pre-packing my lunches EVERY day, planning dinners ahead, etc.

But, as strongly as I feel about that. That's not what is important, really.

In 2013 I want to;
love a little bolder
laugh a little louder
stand a little taller
be a littler braver
dream a little bigger
make the world a little brighter.

I know next to nothing about automation. But, I have done some standard theatrical rigging. My boss/TD/production manager has approved of my wording as "working knowledge of X". It shows that I don't know enough of the rigging/html/etc to have a mastery, but that I can work my way through whatever it is to get the job done.

This is very sweet. I hope there is a way for me to donate a teddy bear from Maine.

Thank you for sharing!

December Madness I: 2012 / Re: December Madness!

I just want to let you know how much I love this. I've been sharing it with everyone I know, and we've all had great laughs.
It's been one of the things that brighten my day during the past couple weeks. I'm stage managing a dance showcase and we're nearing finals (this is my last week of classes before break), and I've really really appreciated this fun break!

Has anyone tried Glow Gaff Tape? We got a huge batch during my summer stock job and I fell in love with it!

But I couldn't do a show without paper. I read that article about the paper-less stage managing experiment...but I just don't see it being possible on a realistic budget.

TIE LINE TIE LINE TIE LINE.

Maybe it's because I'm dating a lighting designer/master electrician, but I LOVE TIE LINE. I've used it for belts, for hair ties, for bookmarks. If we do this again, I'm going behind that.

As for coffee; I wouldn't have voted for it. I think it's one of the ickiest things ever! Can't stand it at all!
