Stage Management: Plays & Musicals / BREAKDOWN
« on: Nov 04, 2018, 03:09 pm »
Hello everyone! Been a while since I've last been on or even stage managed! I have been asked to come back to school and support and train new students. However by the by, my summer 2019 show Sister Act: The Musical will be a big production for this student theatre company! I am looking for a Scene Breakdown for this production. If anyone has done this production and could give me helpful tips or have any paperwork that made be beneficial then give me a PM.

Gratefully Appreciated! ;)

We dont have any flying systems our stage is 5m High so we're tight!, and yeah i was thinking more LX Cue Heavy aswell Love Cue heavy! (My operators are still a bit slow which i need to get them trained more "high school") but think we are going to hire the set from Scenic Projects.

I recall my college doing it with strobes.  You get the creepiness factor and the timing of the strobe can be used to swap actors or slip on a costume.

Yeah that will be a good idea I was thinking of using the movers we are hiring in as a strobe effect for it aswell.

I didn't think of using Co2 instead i'll check with our Fire safety officer on Monday, Also our school doesn't have a pit which strikes that risk.

Thanks for the tips and we are having budgeting problems for hiring in set we have tons of flats I store I may just hire some cloths in.

Hi Folks, I'm Stage Managing, Technical Directing our show next year i'm doing the technical design for the show part of my National Progression Award Technical Theatre in Practice. our school/council fire safety officer is not permitting us to use smoke even just for this scene so i'm wondering if i could do with a few suggestions on how to execute this scene without anybody seeing the transformation of the beast?

Thanks
