Hey guys!  So I just agreed to PSM a tour with a brand new company that's heading out on the road for about 2 months.  I've done small tours before but never a bus and truck.  Just looking for any kind of advice or tips anyone has for me.

Hello everyone!!

Managing a band is something I have always been very interested in doing and I was hoping for any and all advice/tips anyone has on the topic(how to get into it/contacting venues/press packets/job responsibilities), I admit that I don't know much about managing a band and would appreciate any information you could give me.  I have a few friends in smaller local bands and would love to get my feet wet doing some things for them; they have said that I could be their manager, I just want to know more of what I would be getting myself into.

Tools of the Trade / Droid 2 v. Iphone?

I have seen that this topic has already been discussed but since technology changes so rapidly I figured a new topic was the best way to go.  I am due for an upgrade and seriously debating whether a droid or an iphone is better. 

About 90% of the time I am using my phone is for SM duties and am looking for any advice you have on the Droid 2 and the newest Iphone(or any other recommended smartphones).  I have done extensive research and played around on both but the pros cons come to about equal for me.  Any remmendations/input? It would be MUCH appreciated.

Students and Novice Stage Managers / Tour advice ATAFY

I'm just looking for advice, helpful hints, things to look out for, etc.

I've gone out twice before but only for short periods of time where we played multiple shows at each location and didn't have more than 2 stops.  In a little over a week I'm going to begin rehearsal for a children's theatre production with American Theatre Arts for Youth where we will be on the road for about 3 1/2 months and  will hit new venues everyday and I will also be driving the truck along with the TD.  I'm going to be the PSM/Company Manager and would appreciate any helpful tidbits of knowledge you've got to give.

Students and Novice Stage Managers / 1st tour-advice?

So I was hired for my first professional non-intern job and I am realy excited but also...rather nervous.  I will be ASMing a tour that rehearses in the city for less than 2 weeks and then we tech and run the show within a week.  It's coming up soon and I'm getting rather anxious so just wondering if anyone can give me some tips, things to look out for....anything that may calm my nerves a bit?

I'm applying for internships/apprenticeships/jobs for this summer and next year and a few theatres are asking for work samples to be included.  Any advice on which paperwork to send?

Employment / Post College Employment

I'm going to be graduating from college in May and was wondering if anyone could suggest theatres to intern, PA or ASM at?  I've been doing a lot of research but I was hoping to get more suggestions.  I'm looking for something that will last 3 months or longer and preferablly offers EMC points.  Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!
