Hello! My school is doing a production of Shrek and we need to make a packing list. Does anyone have any example packing or travel list?
Thanks!

Hello everyone! I was looking to see if any fellow managers were attending ACTF for region 7 this year? I would love to try and meet some of you!

Students and Novice Stage Managers / Making my Rehearsal book
« on: Dec 30, 2017, 03:25 pm »
Hello All!
I'm moving up slowly but surely, and I'm head managing my first show at my school! Now then, I need to make rehearsal book. I already have most paperwork templates done, and really just need the show to be cast already. But I know need to have my script single sided w/ the set design or layout on the other side with room for blocking notes. What I really need help with is how I should section my book. Should I put the script section before I put the section with contact sheets? Should I put the breakdowns section before the script? I have my script scenes tabbed, and I have my binder dividers ready to go. I just would like some input on how other managers have put their books in order. Thanks a bunch!

Tools of the Trade / Basecamp.com
« on: Jul 04, 2017, 01:11 am »
This year the theatre program I'm in is trying out Basecamp.com. Has anyone else used this on a production? It let's you make schedules, assigning things out, group chats, message boards, file sharing. It all sounds nice, but the file sharing doesn't seem practical for SM purposes. When you go to open or download a file, it opens as a pdf and you can't do anything with that really. I know the site isn't meant for theatre. I'm used to dropbox. I like how I can share a file, and have my fellow asm edit it on their laptop right then and there. I still plan to keep a show dropbox for the purpose of editing flows, checklist, calendars, etc.

Self-Promotion / Re: Got my shows for next season!

Yeah, it's really nice to have all this prep time. I also already have both of my scripts! These shows are both being done by Santa Rosa Junior College in California.

Self-Promotion / Got my shows for next season!

Super excited/nervous for what I have coming my way in the 2017-2018 season. In the fall I will ASM on the Little Mermaid, and SM on Welcome Home Jenny Sutter. I have ASM'd a Musical before (In The Heights) so I'm not worried about it too much, just that we wont be doing it in our normal performance space (it's getting a remodel.) Jenny Sutter will be the first show I am SMing for, not really worried about it either. I have until spring to prep, and it's a small cast.
