Tools of the Trade / Re: Kit: Box vs. Bag

This is what I am currently using.  I have only been using it for a couple of months.  I think we paid about 20 or so for it at Home Depot.

I am currently stage managing Equus.  This past fall was The Full Monty.  I didn't hear of any controversy surrounding TFM, but I have a feeling we may get some for Equus.  I am looking forward to seeing what happens...

Thanks for posting this info...  I do have a question.  What are you looking for in a Stage Management Portfolio?

I keep two pair of 'show shoes'.  One pair of black boots - not reinforced toe and one pair of black sneakers. For the sneakers I usually get a pair of Dr. Scholl's.

My show from this fall "The Full Monty" got selected to go to ACTF and I am considering participating in the "Next Step" interview process.  The information I have found says to prepare a 5 minute presentation...  any suggestions?

Employment / Interview Questions
« on: Nov 05, 2009, 10:20 am »
I have a few interviews coming up and it has been a while since I have interviewed for a SM related job, would anyone like to share some of the questions they use in interviews or have been asked in interviews so I can 'get in the zone'...

Much appreciated!

Several years back when I was doing summer stock in Jersey, I was prop manager one season and we did a show (I don't remember the name) that takes place in the back room of an Italian restaurant.  Our set designer had a live fountain on stage (which somehow became a prop - whatever) and it ran for the whole show.  There is also ALOT of food in the show and my intermission change had me onstage for most of the 15 mins, during our matinee (overwhelmingly blue haired) an audience member came up and knocked on the stage to get my attention and ask me to turn the fountain off because it made her have to go...
