Introductions / Intro from an Old Broad with a new class of SM's

I have been in theater since I was 4. My folks were in Summer stock when I was little putting me in the shows was cheaper than a babysitter. I have acted, directed, designed and made lots, and lots and lots of props. I have been an AEA SM for about 13 years and I teach an SM class, every once in a while at a small university. I haven't been on here in a while and I wanted my class to access it and learn from all of our collective knowledge. I went to improve my profile and saw the "What's in your Kit" section and thought I put a little story on here instead.
So I have a night light in my kit! Since I once had an extension cord used in a show that ran an old fashioned projector in one pivotal scene. Just before the scene we found that someone had unplugged the extension cord! I was found out in time and a crew member slithered along the wall in the dark to find the plug just as the cue to run film started! You never know. So from then on any time we have anything that is physically plugged into an outlet we check the outlet AND the cord at pre-show check.
