JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER (NON-AEA)
 
SALARY - DOE
Regular Part Time Employee position OR Seasonal LTE postion

This position reports to Production Manager

DESCRIPTION
The Production Stage Manager rehearses and stage manages four productions per season, supervises all other stage managers, including assistants and rehearsal stage managers, and monitors and maintains audition process. This position requires frequent work on evenings and weekends. The position is seasonal.

The successful candidate will have a thorough working knowledge of theatrical production, organization, and supervisory management in a theatre setting. Strong oral and written communication skills in addition excellent time management skills are needed for this position. BA/BS in theatre and demonstrated skills in pertinent areas of technical theater production and professional experience desired.

GENERAL DUTIES
1.   Supervising and scheduling stage management team, including other stage managers, assistant stage managers, run crew, etc.
2.   Creating and implementing master Stage Management calendar for Main Stage season and Summerstage program, including timeline tools to assist other staff and production teams.
3.   Supervising and coordinating with Assistant Stage Manager(s), Stage Carpenter, Run crew, Wardrobe crew, Sound Engineer, Master Electrician, designers, and other related personnel during rehearsals and performances.
4.   Coordinating with Production Manager, Director, and all other concerned personnel regarding scheduling, technical needs, etc.
5.   Attending all scheduled production meetings and taking production meeting notes to be distributed to all concerned personnel in a timely manner.
6.   Calling cues during performances
7.   Staying up to date on any pertinent union rules, including AEA, IATSE, and USA, and ensuring that necessary staff are aware of and enforcing such rules as required.
8.   Assembling and maintaining the Prompt Book (defined as the accurate playing text and stage business, together with cue sheets, plots, daily records, etc., as are needed for the actual technical and artistic operation of the production and any future productions of such)
9.   Keeping Production Manager informed regarding productions, rehearsals, staffing issues, schedule adjustments and needs, equipment needs, etc.
10.   Compiling and maintaining contact information for cast, crew, and other necessary personnel, and distributing to all parties (actors, staff, designers, etc.) in a timely manner
11.   Drafting daily rehearsal schedules and posting and/or distributing to all parties (electronic, internet posting as available)
12.   Compiling and distributing daily rehearsal/performance reports to all relevant parties
13.   Communicating with Overture Center technical staff, and Overture Center house manager, security staff, and other related personnel to ensure knowledge of house rules, communication procedures, security procedures, etc.
14.   Managing audition process, including creating master audition calendar, reviewing and revising current systems for scheduling and conducting auditions in cooperation with Artistic Director, Production Manager, and Director of Education, creating and or/improving sign up system, maintaining audition records such as actor profiles, headshots, etc. and ensuring they are available to Artistic Director and others as needed.
15.   Overseeing cast/volunteer participation in show related activities when necessary, including strike.
