Obligitory Hello Statement!

(1/1)

mmoynihan:
So, I've been creeping on this community for a few months now, and I figured I should become legal and join.
It kinda started a long time ago. I was part of a local production of A Christmas Carol in a community theatre. I saw that all the Lighting guys got to sit in a cool booth. I wanted to do that. So I asked the Director/Producer/Owner of the theatre if I could, and she let me! I started off as a lighting tech in a theater with absolutely no concept of stage management. It actually worked some how. The Light techs would have a script and follow cues, while some crew chiefs would run around and make sure that the scenes were changed correctly. I did this for a few years, net worked, and got a lot of experience. As a freshman I was asked to come back to my middle school and run their tech program, which I happily did. Then, the beginning of this school year, I moved. I was a grip in the schools production on "The Sound of Music." Then the tech director of the theatre saw my resume and asked me to stage manage a production of Seussical Jr. That was my 50th production I had been involved with, and in a way, my first stage managing gig "technically" I was then asked to stage manage the New England Drama Festival in April, which I will happily oblige.

If you read that all I love you, thank you, and get a life.  :)
Thanks!
