Hello from Boston
« on: Nov 01, 2017, 04:30 pm »
Hello all,

I'm Elizabeth, I'm an SM working in the Boston Area for the past 6ish years. I made the jump from fringe/small theater to equity about a year ago. I've visited this site a fair number of times and kept meaning to join.

This morning our student matinee show of "In The Heights" with 600 high school students experienced a fire alarm. Everyone was fine, there was no fire, but getting the kids back into the mood for Act II was not a fun time. I wanted someone to commiserate with. But hey, at least it's only Nov 1 and not freezing yet.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to staying in the loop with you all. SMs have the best gossip.

Personally I've always wondered why fire drills and evacuations in the dark weren't integrated into more tech weeks.

Having a fire drill is now required by the NEAT agreement.  I've always felt it should be included in more contracts.
