Hello
« on: Mar 29, 2015, 09:23 pm »
Hi! My name is Kaylie. I'm a freshman in high school and I'm almost absolutely certain that stage management is my passion. I've been involved in theater since kindergarten and I've always felt pretty uncomfortable being onstage. I'm really only comfortable with musical theater (I'm also a huge choir nerd). This fall, I auditioned for Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream.' Under the box that asked if I'd be interested in stage managing, I said "Sure; if needed" unaware of what it really was and assuming freshmen weren't really eligible anyways. A week later, I was devastated when I was put down as stage manager. I had no clue what I was doing and I only felt worse about my terrible acting skills. A few months later, I was begging to stage manage the next production! I stage managed the musical and am also being trained in lighting and sound during Seldom Scene (the club that builds sets, paints, etc... basically all the crew people) Over the past 7-8 months, I've become a huge techie.
