AmDram Jack of all trades
« on: Feb 23, 2016, 06:44 am »
I discovered this site whilst reading a post on The Blue Room and thought I may learn a few things if I joined, so after a little poke about I did.
I work in local amateur theatre for a number of groups, and do an annual pantomime. I have done lighting, sound, video, SM, and acting(!) and found every group has its own little superstitions and traditions that you break at your peril.
During this years performance of Beauty and the Beast we had one chorus member, and resident ghost for the ghost gag (also my son), dislocate his left kneecap just after coming off stage. We completed that nights show, and finished with paramedics carrying him across the stage and out to the waiting ambulance!! He came back for the final performance and sat with the lighting crew doing some close ups with the video camera.
