Profile Pictures
« on: March 05, 2008, 05:37:23 PM »
Hi, all.

I am curious, as I read the discussions that I started to associate the images with those names as the identity of that person. And the most interesting part is that some of the images are not pictures of the members.

So here is my post asking what is the backstory to your chosen profile image?

My picture is from a production of "Sunday in the Park with George" I stage managed last summer.  The image is taken from the stage, looking up at a painters frame with 40+ foot white cloth (which is purple from the lighting) hanging down.  During the opening number, these are pulled down by the performers and dragged offstage.  It was quite cool actually.  We had to go up in the catwalks and on a lift to reset them each performance. :)

So what's your image about? And if it's an image of you, was it taken during a show? (And....."Go!")

Mine is an image of my calling script & headset looking through the window for one of the three shows I SM'd in rep this summer.  I believe that this was my "Servant of Two Masters" script.  For some reason when I transfered the image to the computer it initially came up with this in .gif format and looked kinda cool and artistic - which I really liked.

The Simpsons avatars are fairly accurate! here is mine (though not my profile picture, but still, quite amusing).

Well, I'm very interested in circus work as well as "straight theatre" and am considering Cirque du Soleil as a career goal. One day I was looking for pictures of the circus so I decided to do a french search and typed in "cirque". This came up and I thought the design was gorgeous (especially around the eyes)! Kudos to the unnamed make-up artist.

I believe that this was my "Servant of Two Masters" script.

I love that play, it puts me in such a good mood every time I read it!

Mine is what happened to me after a few of my friends and I decided to let off a little steam after a long day of tech (that started at 10am and the pic was taken roughly 1am). We decided to play Frisbee, my friend launched it long way and I went running after it, looked saw the sign which I though was a ways off.. next thing I knew I was on the ground next to the sign....

What does the sign say??

"Warning: Sign may be closer than it appears" (a very bastardised version of what is written on the bottom of my side mirror on my car)

As for my profile picture... It used to bare a vague resemblance to me, before a hair cut.

I love cheese. Specifically, bleu cheese...Maytag bleu is special to me because I did my grad work in Iowa. Also, my number one hobby is cooking.

Well it was at my college, so the sign actually says Fine Arts Center, Concert Hall, Rand Theater, University Gallery... so basically I knocked down the sign for my own theater... oops

Oh Ya... I caught the Frisbee

Mine was from an event I was a part of several years ago.  Friend was taking a picture and I was smoking a pipe.  Funny, I rarely smoke a pipe, I just like the mysterious look.

Mysterious indeed. Way to show your identity without showing your identity. I'm impressed. :)

AND! if that's not a stage manager enough for you... you're one headset! :-D
