Work outside theatre
« on: May 14, 2013, 01:28 pm »
I'm starting to apply/figure out where I want to apply for internships or jobs next summer and I was trying to figure out how I should put my previous employment, outside of theatre, on my resume. I have been working at a summer camp the past three summers and will be working there this summer as well. Currently I have it formatted:
Employment
Activity/Cabin Counselor    Camp Carysbrook   Summers 2010-2013    (Supervisor name redacted)  ###-###-####

My resume in general could probably use some work and I'm not sure I have it formatted quite the way I want it.. so I'll attach it as well!

Suggestions?

Thanks!
-Rachel

EDIT: redacted phone & supervisor name, removed attachment -PSMK

Rachel, my resume is 100% non-theatre work as I left the field of professional stage management some years ago.  If you'd like to view mine as a sample to get some ideas about how to include outside work please PM me and I will send you a download link.

Hi Rachel - I had to delete the resume attachment. As the board description says, we don't allow them here. However, if you want us to review your res you can either email it to me for inclusion in the resume browser, or you can upload to a remote site and post the link.

Resumes contain a lot of personal info, and this site is heavily indexed by search engines. We don't want a member or reference's contact info leaking to the web because of us. (That's also why I redacted your supervisor's name and phone above.)
