shadowing

What is the best way to go about shadowing a broadway show?
I have read some posts about getting in touch with the stage door and they can direct me there for who to leave the right message with, but how do I get in contact with them?

This might not be a lot of help, but I worked with a lighting designer who has worked on broadway, and his roommate is a broadway set designer, so they set me up with both of my shadowing gigs. My only advice is to be patient- once I was in touch with the people I needed to talk with, it was literally a month or more before we secured a date.
I personally would like to bring a tortoise onto the stage, turn it into a racehorse, then into a hat, a song, a dragon and a fountain of water. One can dare anything in the theatre and it is the place where one dares the least. -Ionesco

http://smnetwork.org/forum/index.php/topic,2995.0.html is a good place to start

there are some notes on the board about shadowing, but as mentioned, the best thing to do is send notes to the Stage Managers or drop them at the stage door (which you shd be able to find with the help of the house staff). Some houses are not practical for shadowing, and some have interesting insurance issues with civilians on deck or in the booth, so keep that in mind if you aren't getting the answer you want.
