Community, Round 2: Flashlight vs. Duct Tape
« on: Dec 04, 2012, 01:53 pm »
The 2nd round of the regular season for the Community League pits backstage preferences against real world preferences. In the backstage world, a quality flashlight is a class symbol, while duct tape is pretty much universally loathed. Outside of backstage, the standard issue flashlights are pale (pun intended) versions of their backstage kin, but duct tape is practically idolized as the stuff that "holds the universe together."

This poll will run through Friday at midnight, CST.

I believe that Duct Tape is blasphemy!
To be a good stage manager you need to have the soul of an artist, the mind of a director, the eye of a designer, the joy of being an actor...
and the ability to manage them all.

I loved Duct Tape, until I found out about Gaff. And having just voted for Gaff in the last round, I'm afraid Duct holds no sway.

Which one of you heretics voted for duct tape?!
You will have to sing for your supper & your mortgage, your dental coverage & your children's shoes, over & over again while people in desk jobs roll their eyes the minute you start to complain. So it's a good thing you like to sing.

For those of you new to sports terms, this is a version of the "home court advantage." A venue populated by stage managers is probably one of the few places where duct tape would be at risk of losing in the first round.

DUCT TAPE? DUCT TAPE?

The nerve...

How do they even get in this freaking conference?

And now flashlight with such an easy round. I sure hopes that means it will be well rested for future games.

Interesting. The other 3 matches have 26 votes. This one has 28.

I am guessing that since this poll went up first, somebody voted on it and forgot about the other 3 matches.

However, part of me suspects shenanigans.

All of these first round match ups seem so one sided. I can't wait until the real action starts with all the easy winners going up against one another.

We've got a couple of first level matches with decent stakes coming up. Paper vs Glow Tape and Post-its vs Spike Tape could both be tight, as might screw gun vs 3 hole punch.
